FIRST FLOOR REMODEL WITH KITCHEN AND FAMILY ROOM ADDITION
This house began life in 1929 as a Halite concrete block house with a brick Tudor / Cotswold Cottage style exterior. The interior had not decorative trim; plaster walls flowed into concrete floors and concrete I-beams were exposed throughout.
The Client wanted to introduce wood coffering and wainscoting in a style consistent with the exterior. This included a new fireplace mantel, new interior columns and a new built-in media cabinet. Additionally, the existing first floor was expanded and re-organized to include a new larger kitchen with a long bar and a “grill porch” directly outside, a hexagonal family room and a revised master suite.
